![]() Michelin - Neos Guide Turkey | ![]() Little Hotel Book Turkey The cave-chapel next door is definitely dated to the 9th century. They served as comfortable homes for the next millenium or two. Now they are reborn as a small hotel of great charm. The memorable aspect of Kayadam (which simply means Rock house) is no doubt the host. Mrs Çiner is a most graceful lady from Istanbul who, along with her son, a French-educated engineering professor, fell in for lure of cave-living. She first moved into a Cappadocian cave 15 years ago; she received so many guest that she at last decided to run a proper hotel. Her main unit incorporates six modestly but comfortably appointed cave rooms, re-carved to fit in bathrooms and other modern amenities. A second house located a short walk uphill offers a self-contained family unit refurbished with greater panache than the main house. Mrs Çiner serves a delightful breakfast, and the view over the Cappadocian landscape is breathtaking.
Cappadocia Life and Travel Guide 2009 The rooms of Kayadam are carved into stone and are decorated by the owner, Kısmet Çiner, to reflect Turkish culture. After receiving high demand from abroad, she built a new three bedroom hotel opposite Kayadam called Villa Bacchus. The same high standarts of Kayadam in quality and service are up-kept for the guest of Villa Bacchus. As for differences, instead of having french doors opening to a terrace with a view of Ürgüp in Kayadam, Villa Bacchus has a pretty courtyard filled with roses. The Argeus Suite attracts attention with its own private terrace, a fully equipped kitchen and a fireplace. Villa Bacchus is an ideal option for families and groups of friends. For accommodation you may choose either Kayadam or Villa Bacchus; the attentive hospitality of Kısmet Çiner and its friendly team will definitely make you happy.
